- The Victorian and Edwardian terraces close to the centre and the station, around Springfield Road, New London Road and the Moulsham streets, fill up with commuter parking by mid-morning, so a lot of those roads sit in the city's resident permit zones. The schemes run for the council by the South Essex Parking Partnership and the bays are typically permit-only 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, so an off-peak slot rarely frees up kerb space. Note your nearest loading point and any permit zone in the quote.
- The newer commuter stock is a different job. The Beaulieu, Channels and riverside developments are blocks and closes with allocated bays, visitor parking and sometimes fob entry, and Beaulieu Park has had its own parking restrictions added as the estate has filled out. Share the floor, the entry method and where we can leave the van so arrival isn't held up.
- Hylands Park hosts big festivals through the summer, with Radio 2 in the Park and the new State Fayre weekend among them, and on event days the A414 and the A1016 approach and the roads around the park back up badly. Good job, ran over a little
Three-bed near the station. Took about an hour longer than quoted, mostly the bathrooms. They didn't rush to make the time up, which I appreciated. Deposit returned in full.
